This week we have been practicing some basic facts using ten frames! Ten frames provide a great visual representation of math facts. We have been utilizing these to formulate a solid foundation of sums to ten, and doubles facts. When we have our sums to 10 (i.e. 1+9, 2+8, 3+7, etc.) and doubles (2+2, 3+3, 4+4, etc.) it makes it a lot easier to then figure out our other math facts. We call these “helper facts”. Sums to ten, and doubles facts are great math facts to practice every day, as they will help to form a really solid foundation on which to build other math skills on.
