Ten Frames!
This week we have been practicing some basic facts using ten frames! Ten frames provide a great visual representation of math facts. We have been utilizing these to formulate a solid foundation of sums to ten, and doubles facts. When we have our sums to 10 (i.e. 1+9, 2+8, 3+7, etc.) and doubles (2+2, 3+3, 4+4, etc.) it makes it a lot easier to then figure out our other math facts. We call these “helper facts”. Sums to ten, and doubles facts are great math facts to practice every day, as they will help to form a really solid foundation on which to build other math skills on.
Woohoo!!!! We met our PAWs card goal!
Through a lot of hard work, the kids have met their hallway Paws card goal of 1,000 cards! This means that we have earned a Carnival to celebrate! The Carnival day will be Friday, October 23rd. Our class is scheduled to visit the carnival in the early morning. The school is looking for some parent volunteers that are willing to help out with some carnival games, from either 8:00-11:30 or 11:20-2:00. We would also love to have you here all day! If you are able to volunteer, please let me know, so I can pass your name along to the PBIS team! Thank you, as always for your support!
