Fire Prevention!

We had an awesome visit with some pretty great firefighters today.  We discussed fire safety, and learned, and practiced how to get out of a building, if it was filling with smoke.  We learned about the gear firefighters use, and I was lucky enough to demonstrate what it would be like to have to wear ALL of that gear!  It is a LOT heavier than it looks!  We also got a quick tour of a fire truck, and an ambulance.  What a great experience!

Owls!

We had an outstanding presentation on owls this morning.  We learned a lot about owls, and got to see some pretty amazing creatures!  We were pretty lucky to be able to participate in such an incredible learning experience!

We were experiencing what it would be like to have eyes the size of our fists.  That is what it                         would be like, if we were owls.

Nope!  We are not owls! We can’t turn our heads, all the way around.  Although… some teachers do have the superpower of eyes on the back of our heads!
